WHATS INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE?

Exclusive private tour. It will just be your group, minimum of two  people and a max of six people.

Electric bike hire – rental of a state-of-the-art electric touring bike and cycle helmet.

An experienced and knowledgeable local guide.

A taste of whisky and a sweet treat.

On the Farm Tour only – meet the farmer and goats, complementary ice cream.

On the Sail and Cycle Tour only – passage on the SS Sir Walter Scott (or alternative vessel) to Stronachlacher.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED?

Any additional meals or refreshments and gratuities.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Comfortable sporty clothing is ideal (padded cycling shorts are a bonus if you have them).

Bring sunglasses and suncream if it’s going to be nice, a waterproof and windproof jacket if it’s not and midge repellent for in between.

Wear trainers or similar footwear with closed toes. Gloves are a good idea. 

We provide cycle helmets.

HOW DO I BOOK?

To book electric bike tours of the Trossachs at Loch Katrine, click on any of the booking or contact us buttons around the site, then complete the form stating the tour you want, the date you require, the number in your group, the approximate heights of the riders.

We will get back to you to confirm your requirements, have a chat if you have questions and then take payment in advance.

A TYPICAL TOUR DAY

We will ask you to arrive at Katrine Wheelz at Trossachs Pier, 10 miles North of Callander on the A821 at 10am for our Loch Katrine Explorer and Sail and Cycle Tours, 12.30 for our Goat Ice Cream Tour and 5pm for our Evening Tour.

We will undertake a pre-tour briefing and pick up your electric bike hire. We will fit the ebikes to the riders and explain how the pedal assist works. Then you’ll have a few minutes to practice riding and get used to the bike.

Our tours all return to Katrine Wheelz.

Remember our tours are leisurely, with stops to rest, chat and take pictures, and the opportunity to call in at a cafe. There’s no rush!

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS ON TOUR?

We require a minimum of two people to run the tours. We have a maximum of six guests per tour.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN UNDER 14?

Sorry no. Due to UK legal restrictions, only children over the age of 14 are permitted to ride electric bicycles.

DO I HAVE TO PEDAL?

Yes, ebikes only assist you when the pedals are turning. You still have to do some work, but the electric assist makes the hills far more enjoyable!

FITNESS

What if my group has a mix of experience or fitness?

Our electric bikes have four power settings, so you can adjust the level of assistance provided. This means everyone can go at the same pace.

It’s great fun and you’ll be surprised how easy the hills are on an ebike.

DO YOU RUN TOURS IN ALL WEATHER?

It has been known to rain in the Trossachs!  So, yes, we still run tours in the rain. Sometimes the weather changes quite quickly, so a wet start can easily turn into a lovely sunny day (and vice versa).

If severe weather is forecast, we will cancel with as much notice as possible and offer you to a different tour date.

Whether a tour goes ahead is at the discretion of the tour guide, who will risk assess conditions.

WHERE DO THE TOURS START?

We are based at Katrine Wheelz Bike Hire and Ebike Hire shop at Trossachs Pier (Loch Katrine), 10 miles north of Callander on the A821. There is ample pay-and-display car parking.

There is no public transport to the tour meeting point.

CANCELLATION POLICY

IF YOU DECIDE CANCEL: Up to 7 days before the tour, we offer a refund but deduct £10 per person admin fee. Subject to availability, an alternative date may be available at no additional cost. Within 24 hours of the tour departure, we regret we cannot offer a refund. We will try our best to move your booking to another suitable date.

CANCELLATION BY US: While every attempt is made to ensure that all tours run as scheduled, we reserve the right to cancel or amend before or on the day of the activity, especially in the event of severe weather or other unforeseen events. In these circumstances customers who have made payments will be offered either a full refund or another booking on a different date. Unfortunately, in these circumstances we cannot compensate for the cost of travel or accommodation in connection with the activity you have booked through us.
